Books in the 21st Century： Obsolescence or Renaissance？
The Embassy of Canada E. H. Norman Library Speaker Series introduces Canada through its books, authors and arts.
Given the growing popularity of the Internet and such convenient electronic sources of information, the traditional craft of book-printing stands at a crossroad. Professor Gregory Strong at Aoyama Gakuin University will share his views on this issue, taking us on a journey which will touch upon the history of writing, the book trade in Canada today and Margaret Atwood's writer - book - reader triangle theory. He will also explain about the Alcuin Society Book Design Awards and the Society's aim in recognizing innovate book design in Canada.
